The challenge of our project consists in designing the user experience of the extreme sports insurance application while aligning with SwissLife's style and design guidelines. We aim to improve the application's configurator to better support users throughout the insurance customization process. Our approach is anchored in a "mobile-first" strategy, emphasizing a smooth user journey during configuration.
An insurance registration flow designed to offer a smooth, intuitive, and secure user experience.
An easily customizable insurance quote system designed to offer a smooth experience tailored to the specific needs of policyholders.
The real-time tracking feature ensures insurance availability, offering peace of mind during sports sessions.
In order to better understand users' perceptions and needs regarding insurance for extreme sports, we conducted a survey. Our goal was to gather information on the feelings and expectations of people practicing extreme sports.
Of respondents have practiced extreme sports as amateurs and believe that having insurance is absolutely essential to ensure their safety.
Of respondents attempted to purchase insurance for extreme sports but found the process extremely tedious and unclear, which discouraged them.
Of respondents who managed to purchase insurance for extreme sports encountered issues with administrative procedures and felt that the processing of claims was lengthy and time-consuming.
The majority of users do not subscribe to extreme sports insurance due to exorbitant prices, lack of medical coverage, limited geographical coverage, lengthy processing times, and slow response rates.
We conducted a user test with 10 participants to gather insights on the strengths and weaknesses of our solutions, as well as the experiences of our target users. This process allows us to confirm or refute our hypotheses, improve the user experience to meet the expected quality level, and foster continuous improvement by identifying a significant portion of usability issues.
We initially considered a central button for accessing insurance quotes or submitting a claim. However, some feedback indicated that it was unclear since there was no text on the button.
We decided to remove the central button and add labels for each icon in the menu bar, as well as grouping all claims or requests under the insurance screen.
When creating an insurance quote, the user needs to customize and refine the details of their insurance, but it is not intuitive as they do not understand certain aspects of some sections.
To address this, we wrote a brief description for each section of the insurance quote to help users understand what certain choices entail.
Designing a product in the insurance sector is a significant challenge, particularly when it comes to conveying the message and ensuring clarity. It is crucial to create a product that not only meets users' needs but also effectively communicates the benefits and features of the insurance in a transparent manner.
This project has been a significant learning experience for me. It has contributed to my growth by allowing me to acquire new skills and strengthen my understanding of project management and execution. I feel more confident in my ability to tackle complex challenges and deliver effective solutions.
